A selection of objects from the Historic Houses Trust's collections are available to view online via an open seach catalogue. The Museum Collections catalogue includes photographs and descriptions of domestic furnishings from the 19th century to the present day and is intended as a research resource for scholars, heritage and conservation practitioners, museum professionals, designers and the general public.

The items in the catalogue come primarily from the Caroline Simpson Library & Research Collection but also from the Historic Houses Trust’s house museums.

Four formats can currently be searched through the Museum Collections catalogue:

Floor coverings: includes carpets, felt, matting, oilcloth, linoleum, felt base and vinyl
Garden Ornament: includes fountains, urns, planters, sundials and edging tiles
Wall coverings: includes various formats such as sample books, rolls and fragments
Hardware: historically known as builders hardware or ironmongery, it includes door hardware such as door knobs and knockers, locks, fingerplates and escutcheons
