Domes Blog
A blog from the Hyde Park Barracks Domes Restoration Project
The Historic Houses Trust is recreating the twin domes of the Hyde Park Barracks guardhouses, decorative elements intrinsic to the original design by Francis Greenway. The timber framed, shingled domes were demolished in the early 1850s. Their reconstruction will combine archival research, archaeological analysis and conservation of the surviving building fabric.
This blog will follow the project with discussions on a wide range of topics and details of associated events. Watch this space!
