Rose Seidler House

The Blues Point Tower, Australia Square, MLC Centre, Grosvenor Place and Darlinghurst’s dominating Horizon apartment block stand tall as evidence of Seidler’s influence on the architecture of Sydney.

Less well known are some of Seidler’s earlier life experiences – fleeing Nazi occupied Austria, being labelled an 'enemy alien' by the British, transportation to a Canadian Internment camp and studying under legends like Walter Gropius – the former head of the Bauhaus – Marcel Breuer and artist Joseph Albers.

No architect has altered Sydney’s skyline as much Seidler. His strong opinions might have made him both revered and feared, but it’s hard to ignore his legacy.
