Open House

Visit Rose Seidler House for free

An opportunity to explore the seminal 1950s house. Celebrate the life and work of one of Australia's world-renowned architects, Harry Seidler AC OBE, by visiting Rose Seidler House for free over this special commemorative weekend. Activities will include lunchtime talks, 50s style sausage sizzle, screenings of original Seidler home movie footage and a Seidler book sale (11am - 3pm).

Ed Lippmann \ Saturday 8 March \ 1pm

Ed Lippmann commenced his architectural studies at UNSW in 1976 but it was the year spend in Marcel Breuer’s New York office in 1979 where he discovered architecture. He returned to Sydney and completed his studies in 1982. He commenced his practice in 1985. In 1990 Ed was invited by the East German government to visit the Dessau. Over 22 years Lippmann has produced a broad range of residential, commercial and public buildings which are generated by his formative education and influences.

Penelope Evatt Seidler FRAIA B/Arch University of Sydney, wife of Harry Seidler, joined Harry Seidler and Associates in 1964. As well as being an architect, she is also a qualified accountant in charge of financial management. She is involved in the arts and has been a member of the International Council of the Museum of Modern Art in New York since 1973.

Fifties Fair

Be a part of the definitive 50s era event.  The Fifties Fair has grown to become the most comprehensive and engaging 50s celebration in Australia, set against the striking modernism of Harry Seidler's Rose Seidler House.

All day entertainment on the main stage, street theatre, fashion, vehicle displays, specialist stalls, events for the kids, food and drink and much more.
