MEROOGAL

Meet & greet weekend visitors at Meroogal, a historic property in Nowra – task suitable for people who like people.

Description
Would you like to spend 3 hours on one weekend a month helping out in the Meroogal visitor cottage and beautiful grounds, surrounding a romantic two-storied timber house near the Shoalhaven River in Nowra? Visits to the property are by guided tour only and we are looking for friendly, resourceful people who would love to act as hosts, welcoming weekend visitors especially when a tour is in progress.

Tasks include making visitors comfortable by explaining what there is see at the property and where all the facilities are located; inviting visitors to watch a short documentary DVD narrated by June Wallace, the last descendent to own the property or to browse through albums of archival photographs. Volunteers are our valued ambassadors who can make a difference in visitation to the property. Training is provided. If you enjoy good conversation, listen with empathy and love local history, we would love to hear from you.
