How to apply
To be selected as a HHT volunteer is a highly competitive process. Volunteer applications are received throughout the year, they are reviewed by the Volunteers Coordinator and put on file until the next processing date, or until a suitable volunteer position becomes available. Volunteers are selected on the basis of their skills, interests and suitability to fulfil the needs of the organisation at any given time. There are a variety of volunteer positions at many of the Historic Houses Trust museums that become available from time to time. You may apply at anytime.
Remaining recruitment dates for 2008:
May 2008
August 2008
November 2008
Please note volunteers may be recruited outside these dates as required.

HOW TO APPLY
What are the steps involved in becoming a HHT volunteer?
- Apply for an information pack by emailing the HHT Volunteers Co-ordinator.
- Fill out and submit the application form.
- Once your application is received you will be notified that your application is on file.
- You may be called in for an interview if your skills, knowledge, and interests match any volunteer roles the Historic Houses Trust requires. You will be phoned and a letter of confirmation will be sent if you are called for an interview. Your application will stay on file for 1 year and you will be considered at each recruitment.
- Attend an interview. Interviews are conducted by Curators/Managers together with the Volunteers’ Coordinator.
- Once a volunteer is recruited a letter of offer and a Volunteer Agreement outlining the conditions of voluntary service will be sent to you.
- Attend training. 2 day Induction training, and then job/museum specific training. Training varies depending on the volunteer position. You are advised of training dates at the interview.
- Once you have successfully completed all compulsory induction and training requirements you are an official HHT volunteer.
If you are over 18 years of age, enthusiastic and reliable and looking for a challenging and rewarding experience we hope to hear from you soon. Please contact the Volunteers Coordinator for an information pack and application form:
