SAW 02 Utzon
Architecture; Walking Tour

Sydney Architectural Walks are architect-led urban tours for aesthetes, literati, voyeurs & for locals who love familiar terrain from a different viewpoint.
SAW 02 - Utzon
An in-depth and comprehensive stroll through the amazing visionary world of Jørn Utzon, charting the triumphant, exhilarating then tragic course of the design and construction of the Sydney Opera House. We will discuss the source of the young architect’s inspiration, explain his working methods, reveal what he planned but never realised for the interiors, and bring you up to date on Utzon’s current Opera House refurbishment.
Each hour of participation in this activity may contribute to the annual informal CPE requirements for architect’s registration.
We walk rain or shine so bring a sun hat, umbrella, raincoat, camera, sketch book etc.

Florence Lagrange-Leader, Cartoville - Sydney
Intelligent, articulate and energetic guides, offering insights into architecture's non-visible world of unbuilt designs, political tensions and historical twists. Here's a chance to remember how vivid and exciting Sydney can seem. Recommended, three hats.
Elizabeth Farrelly, The Sydney Morning Herald
The Sydney Architecture Walks are the urban equivalent of stopping to smell the roses. It has changed how I feel about my adopted hometown - revealed a depth I never thought it had and shown me the link between architecture and cultural expression.
